Jo explored basketry as a sculptural medium, and enjoyed learning the extensive range of techniques involved.
In 2014 she toured Europe and took classes in Germany and Spain with leading basketmakers, and visited major basket markets in each of those counties (Lichtenfels and Salt).
The following year she was honoured to be invited to represent Australia in the 2015 International Wicker and Weaving Competition in Poland, working alongside 160 basketmakers from 60 countries. Following the Festival she toured Denmark, working in the studios of 5 renowned Danish Basketmakers and then toured the Willow growers and basketmakers in Somerset, England.
At the 2015 Royal Melbourne Show she was awarded two first places, and at the 2016 Show awarded 'Best in Show' for Basketry, gaining 2 firsts places once again.
She has been invited to teach her skills across Australia
